Three dead and several missing in Texas, Oklahoma flooding

Three people have died and hundreds of homes have been destroyed in flood in the southern US. About 350 homes were under water in a small Texas town as a large part of the central and southern Plains states.

Twelve people, including two children, were reported missing along the Blanco river in Texas. The storms also forced the evacuation of the Rocklahoma music festival in Pryor, about 50 miles west of Tulsa.

Three to six inches of rain fell in the Oklahoma City metro area. The Blanco is one of the worst hit rivers in Texas.  The National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma, also reported that 70 flash flood warnings have been issued in that area so far this year.

Nearly 1,000 people nearby were evacuated from their homes and parts of the Interstate 35 highway were flooded and closed.
