Pop star Taylor Swift nominated for the 14 categories at the Billboard music awards. Taylor Swift wins 8 Billboard Music Awards. Swift also won top Billboard 200 album for “1989” and top female artist Sunday night.
She is taking home eight awards including top artist, top Billboard 200 artist, top Hot 100 artist and top streaming song.
“Oh, this is such a good night!” she said after winning the top prize, besting One Direction, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith and Katy Perry. “Early this morning I watched my brother Austin graduate from Notre Dame … (and) to anyone who’s graduating this year … this is for you.”
Swift took home the most awards, followed by Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea and Pharrell, who each won three awards, as well as One Direction, Hozier, Jason Aldean, Enrique Iglesias and John Legend, each of whom won two. The awards were hosted by Chrissy Teigen and Ludacris, produced by Dick Clark Productions and aired live on ABC from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
Swift, who addressed her fans in several of her speeches Sunday night, ended the night with one last appeal to them, telling them she “loves” them and would see them on the 1989 tour.
