Sprinter Sacre comeback at Ascot

The finest racehorses Sprinter Sacre comeback at a wintry Ascot, Saturday.

The 9 year old Sprinter was back after spending 13 months on the sidelines with a heart rumble.Sprinter Sacre was found to be suffering from an irregular heartbeat, and a further 248 since his last victory, at the end of a romp through Grade One feature events at the three major racing Festivals in the spring of 2013.

Sprinter Sacre, rated one of the best steeplechasers of current years.

Trainer Nicky Henderson said: “There was no messing about. They went a good gallop and it just found him out in the end.”

Sprinter Sacre is a dark brown horse sired by the German Thoroughbredstallion Network, whose progeny also include the French steeplechaser Rubi Ball and the Irish-trained Rubi Light .
Sprinter Sacre missed a planned run in the Tingle Creek Trophy. After an absence the gelding returned in the Clarence House Chase at Ascot on 17 January. After racing in 4th place for most of the way he moved up to take the lead in the straight but was overtaken nearing the final fence and finished 2nd to Dodging Bullets.
