Passengers abandon a plane after it made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport. Airport officials said a fire broke out in one of the No. 2 engine of the turbo-prop United Express plane.

Philadelphia International Airport says a United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at PHL Airport due to an engine fire.

“Midway through the flight we heard a loud sound,” Cunningham said. “I was on the left side of the plane and looked off to the right side. The propeller stopped. People in the back of the plane reported smoke and fire. That’s what happened. They said we were gonna take an emergency landing in Philly.”
