lululemon athletica (Nasdaq: LULU) is active Thursday following reports discussing founder Dennis Wilson’s talks with Private Equity about a potential buyout.
The WSJ reports that Wilson is actively exploring options, but a deal isn’t currently in the works. Sources also said that hurdles remain given the premium lululemon might command atop its already steep $6 billion market capitalization.
Wilson, who stepped down as chairman last May, said he had been increasingly unhappy with the direction that lululemon was going. He voted against a new chairman and director at the retailer’s recent annual meeting.
Leonard Green & Partners has been named as one of the potential PE firms working with Wilson.
